Learn to Fly

Learning to fly is an accomplishment many talk and dream about, but few act on. At Indy Aero we have been training people to fly for over 18 years. We have watched many students show their exhilaration when they come back after landing the aircraft on their first solo, and seen the excitement on their face when they receive their Private Pilot Certificate. Many of those students have gone on to make flying a profession and are now flying commercially.

Did you know?

Indy Aero is central Indiana's ONLY FAA Part 141 approved flight school! This means that we can offer private pilot training in 35 hours instead of the standard 40 hours. And we can offer an Instrument rating in 35 hours and you do not have to have the 50 hours of cross country flying that other flight schools require. This means you save a lot of money and time and will have your instrument rating faster than originally possible. In addition, you can complete your commercial pilot certificate in just 190 hours total time with Indy Aero instead of the normal 250 hours. Let us know if you have questions about how our Part 141 FAA approved flight training program can benefit you!

Cessna Pilot Center

A Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) is a specially selected flight school that represents top-quality, professional flight training. Each CPC is hand picked by Cessna to ensure that they maintain Cessna’s high standards for flight training.

As a CPC, Indy Aero Flight School maintains modern training facilities with clean, quiet study areas and classrooms as well as a fleet of modern aircraft with strict maintenance requirements.

Specialized Training and Curriculum

Indy Aero is able to provide a wide selection of Pilot Certification and Rating Courses under Federal Aviation Regulation Part 61 and Part 141. Offering instruction under FAR Part 61 allows greater flexibility in scheduling, ground instruction and flight lesson sequence. Training under Part 141 allows training to take place at a much more rapid pace. The sample hours listed for each rating are based on the minimum hours required by the FAA. Student proficiency and learning rates vary and as a result, total hours may be greater. Indy Aero, Inc. also offers specialized training in aircraft such as the Cessna 172RG, 182, Piper Seminole, and Cessna 400. This specialized training includes the safe operation of these high-performance aircraft and the proper use of the sub-systems and avionic systems installed in each aircraft.
