Our Maintenance Staff

 
Jeff Monesmith - Director of Maintenance

Jeff is an Indiana native. After growing up on a farm in northeastern Indiana, he went to college at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. Jeff received his degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. After finishing college he returned to Indiana to begin a career in aviation. He then spent several years working for a large part 135 operation on a charter fleet of Twin Cessna’s and turbines. In the spring of 2001 Jeff came to Indy Aero to broaden his working experiences. During the winter of 2001 Jeff Received his IA certificate and began performing annual inspections. In April of 2002 Jeff became the director of maintenance for Indy Aero. Jeff completed Cessna High performance single engine training in January of 2003, Garmin G1000 line maintenance training in November of 2006 and Garmin GFC 700 line maintenance training November 2007. 

Kay Childs – Parts Associate

Kay grew up right here in the Greenfield area, graduating from New Palestine High School.  She has 25 years experience with inventory control, production control and master scheduling.  She also has 4 years as a buyer for both production and maintenance parts. She joined Indy Aero in our parts department in January of 2007.
 

Joe Wood - A & P IA

Joe grew up locally in Indianapolis.  Joe is a graduate of Vincennes University’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program. Joe started his career with Indy Aero in July of 2003 as a line service technician. Joe moved into the maintenance department in October of 2003.  He completed his Cessna HPSE training in April of 2004.   Joe Received his IA in May of 2007 and completed Garmin G1000 and GFC700 line maintenance training in November of 2007.  Joe is very experienced with Cessna single engine aircraft and Garmin G1000 equipped Cessna’s. 
 

Dave Brown - A & P IA

Dave grew up in Indiana and joined the U.S. Navy, where he acquired his Aviation experience. He has experience on Turbo Prop and Turbo Fan aircraft, fuel systems and landing gear.
While serving in the military he attended Corrosion School, Boeing Aircraft School, Supervisor School and Quality Assurance School. Upon Completion of his 11 years with the Navy he decided to take time away from aviation. In 1999 he found employment with a local aircraft interior shop.  In 2000, he decided to use his military experience to obtain his A & P License and obtained employment with an aircraft company here in Indianapolis. There he gained experience on Twin Turbo Commanders and Citation Jets.  In 2004 he was hired at Indy Aero where he has been working on general aviation aircraft.   Dave became Cessna Certified and received his IA in April of 2005.   He has completed Garmin G1000  and GFC 700 Line Maintenance training in November of 2007.
 

 

Eric Wilson -  A & P Mechanic

Eric grew up in Vincennes, Indiana.  During high school he enrolled in Vincennes University’s Aviation  Maintenance Technology program, earning his associates degree and his A & P certificate.  After graduating from Vincennes university, Eric went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Aerospace Administration from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Eric came to Indy Aero in January of 2007 looking to gain experience and secure a promising career in aviation maintenance.  He completed Garmin G1000 and GFC700 line maintenance training in November of 2007.  Currently he is working towards his IA certificate.  Eric has had a hand in all aspects of general aviation maintenance during his time with Indy Aero and continues to be a valued team member. 
 

Jeremy McKenney - A & P IA

Jeremy grew up in the central Indiana area.  He achieved an Associates degree in Aviation Maintenance at Vincennes university in April of 2000.  Jeremy went to work at Kalamazoo Aircraft after graduation and spent 5 years working primarily on Beech Aircraft.  After leaving Kalamazoo he went to work at Hovaire and worked on mostly Piper aircraft.  In 2007 Jeremy moved back to Indiana and went to work for Indianapolis Aviation.  There he gained experience on Cessna and Columbia aircraft.  Jeremy has held his IA certificate since 2004 and is a welcome addition to our team.  His well rounded experience has allowed him to fit right in with our shop and provide quality maintenance.
